Overview

Not only have uranium yields been historically discovered in high quantities in Argentina but the country is also home to some of the earth’s highest-grade uranium, up to ten times more concentrated than typical yields. Argentina has a long history of uranium mining dating back to 1952, and claims to have the most advanced nuclear power industry in Latin America with two working stations and a third on the way.  According to Jon Anderson, President and CEO of Strategic Resources, Argentina is a “promising area for the discovery and mining of uranium.”

Uranium exploration is essential to maintain and improve the world’s quality of life, economic development, advancement and for present and future generations. The world has an ever increasing need for nuclear fuel. As the world sees the greater than ever demand for uranium and a steady decline in supply, Strategic Resources is ideally positioned to capitalize on one of the earth’s most important commodities.

Why Argentina

Argentina

Strategic believes Argentina is one of the premier locations in the world to have success in resource exploration.  There is no shortage of the exploration and mining successes throughout the history of South America, going back to the Inca’s in Peru and continuing on to the success of Chile’s massive copper industry, along with Brazil and Venezuela’s oil and mineral wealth. But little has been talked about Argentina.

This was primarily due more to the fact the country was once dominated by the bigger mining houses that maintained a virtual control on the exploration in Argentina until recent times. During the initial window in its history, there were a number of exploration successes by junior companies that either sold to or developed their mines with larger companies. Projects such as Bajo de la Alumbera, Valedero, Aqua Rica, Cerro Vanquardia, Escal, and El Pachon are all multi-billion dollar assets.  More recently there has been discoveries at Pascua-Lama, Gualcamay and San Jose that are under construction and newer discoveries like Navidad. With the likes of Xtrata, Anglo American, BHP  Billiton ,Rio Tinto, Goldcorp and Barrick Gold, and Yamana all having relatively new and world class projects in the country, Argentina in the midst of becoming the major up and coming mining country in the world with the same discovery potential that existed in South Africa, Ontario, Colorado, Montana and Nevada a century ago.

The mining laws are in Argentina are transparent and very favorable in which to work. With the leading mining Companies in he world heavily invested in the nation, the framework for success has not only been laid out, it has been working well for over a decade. With the surge in world Uranium prices only being quite recent, little work has been done Argentina at exploring for this particular resource. This is what is providing us with the opportunity here and now.

Exploration for uranium in Argentina began in the early 1950's, and subsequently deposits have been discovered in a number of locations, mostly in the western and southern parts of the country. For the last 25 years only minimal exploration for uranium was carried out by Commission Nacional de Energia Atomica de Argentina (CNEA).  Strategic along with a few other smaller exploration companies are now engaged at Uranium exploration in Argentina.
